Ultron - Iron Man Helmet

The original Ultron Mk1 version.

I was inspired by Age of Ultron where Ultron takes control of one of the damaged Iron Legion drones. I really liked the design aesthetic of the sharp glowing eyes and mouth with the wires sticking out of the back.

The main build started from a defective Iron Man helmet cast. I had a spare lighting kit and decided to put it in the helmet and it looked really cool and that is where I drew the connection. I started to Dremel out the back and the damages around the eyes and mouth. I did not want to create a replica but wanted to add my own version to it.

Paint started with a metallic blue for the main helmet and pearl white for the face plate. Various battle damage paint techniques were used to add depth to the damage. The interior was a mixture of smashed clear acrylic plastic pieces to simulate broken glass on the inside. This would diffuse the lights and give depth to them. The back of the helmet was fitted with multiple computer components and wires to simulate the back of the head was blown off and possibly hacked into.

Overall, this was a super fun build to do and I hope I get to revisit this style of work soon!
