All for One Helmet - My Hero Academia

The main villain from “My Hero Academia”.

This was a project I started planning in March to complete for Anime North 2019. The 3D print files were purchased from CGTrader.com and printed in PLA plastic on our Prusa MK 2 & 3.

The 3D printed pieces were put together using 2 part cyanoacrylate glue. The larger flat pieces were coated with Bondo body filler on the outside and slush casted with Smooth Cast 300 on the inside to add durability. The pieces were sanded until smooth and painted with primer. A flat black was used for the main neck assembly. A gloss “blueberry” spray paint was used for the skull assembly.

A question that came up before I even started this project was how was the visibility going to be? The solution was to have the skull removable for easier visibility while moving around. When photos were being taken, simply pop the skull top on and pose for the photo. The bottom of the skull has a piece of foam with embedded magnets that line up with the inside of the helmet.

Fans were also installed in the front of the helmet to help me breathe but weren’t needed as the helmet top was mostly off which allowed me to breathe normally.

The last step was to purchase a similar suit to the character and it is complete!
